Leicestershire Performance Hub (County Academy)
The Academies provide training and match play for athletes are under 15. The County Netball Associations manage and deliver the Academies on behalf of England Netball. The programme is approximately 30 sessions per year - September through to May. The coaches are experienced and have a minimum of the UKCC Level 2 coaching award.
The aim of the programme is to train the athletes in their units and focus on their positional, technical, and tactical skills with some fun games in there to help improve their game awareness. There will be regularly competition to allow the athletes to implement the skills they have learnt. The athletes should be striving for the next level in the pathway which is Loughborough Lightning under 17 Academy. Athletes in a Academies should be accessing between 12-16 hours a week of training and competition, both in netball and other invasion sports. Strength and Conditioning work is also important for this level and age group of athletes, to ensure that muscles are developed properly, to prevent injury and to prepare them for a greater intensity of training as they progress their netball careers. |
